Risen energy storage makes BloombergNEF’s Tier 1 list in every quarter of 2026
BloombergNEF’s Q4 2026 Tier 1 list of energy storage manufacturers again includes Risen, completing a run from Q1 to Q4 2026 on the benchmark developers, EPCs and lenders use to screen storage suppliers.
BloombergNEF (BNEF) has released its Q4 2026 Tier 1 list of global energy storage system manufacturers, and Risen is on it again. That means Risen storage has met BNEF’s Tier 1 criteria in every quarter of 2026, from Q1 to Q4.
What Tier 1 means
BNEF is an independent research firm that covers the new-energy sector. It updates the Tier 1 list each quarter from its project database, using a published, transparent method. Overseas project owners, EPCs and financial institutions use it as a reference when they shortlist storage suppliers.
The assessment looks at a manufacturer’s track record: installed projects, delivery and contract performance, and how widely its products are used across markets. That is why Tier 1 status is read as a sign of commercial strength, not as a product rating. Holding it quarter after quarter points to steady, repeatable delivery rather than a one-off result.

The technology behind the listing
Risen builds its storage systems on a “4S” architecture, (BMS + EMS + PCS) × SMS. It integrates the battery management, energy management, power conversion and safety management systems, with layered safety protection designed in from the system level up.
The systems are paired with Risen Cloud, Risen’s energy management platform. It brings digital tools into every stage of a project’s life:
- a digital twin and visualised energy flows
- 24/7 proactive alerts
- smart dispatch
- remote operations and maintenance
Risen Cloud monitors and controls distributed storage sites worldwide from one place. It is built to catch faults early, make long-term O&M more efficient and keep a project’s returns steady.
A global manufacturing and service network
Risen Energy Co., Ltd. runs 11 production bases and 18 sales and service centres worldwide. Its storage business covers Europe, the Americas, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and South America, with local sales, technical support, delivery and after-sales teams.
Backed by its supply chain and delivery capability, Risen has built long-term relationships with major state-owned enterprises and energy customers in China and abroad. It continues to deliver utility-scale and commercial and industrial (C&I) storage projects. Rather than selling a single product, Risen offers customised, integrated solar-plus-storage solutions.
Risen says it will keep investing in R&D, keep improving its storage systems, broaden its product range across applications and extend its local service network.
What it means in Australia
For Australian developers, EPCs and financiers, continued Tier 1 status strengthens the bankability case for Risen battery storage, including the eTron 5 MWh liquid-cooled ESS, in utility-scale and C&I projects. Risen’s storage was also on BNEF’s Q2 2026 list, alongside its PV modules. Read about that dual listing.
